Planning for a Divorce

A recent article in the Sydney Morning Herald outlined steps that married people should take to ensure that if they do get a divorce, they are better prepared to deal with life during and after their family law case.

The artlicle does not suggest any devious plots to to hide all of the assets or run off with your children, leaving your spouse with nothing.  Rather, the article suggests that each person have knowledge of what assets the parties have and what liabilities the parties owe.  The article also mentions that if a divorce appears to be likely, that a party should set up a binder or file to keep all of their important family law related documents in one place.

Getting organized in preparation for a divorce is always a good idea.
