English Bus Driver Wins 2 Million Pound Lottery Three Months After Divorce

According to a recent article in the Daily Mail, bus driver Kevin Halstead received 2.3 million pounds after a recent lottery win. Mr. Halstead finalized his divorce from his wife only three months prior to winning the lottery. Had he won the lottery while still married to his wife, he would have been required to share his winnings with her. It appears that the laws in Great Britain regarding
divorce are similar to Florida's. In
Florida family law cases, if Mr. Halstead had won the lottery while still married to his wife, she would also likely be entitled to one half of the winnings as part of equitable distribution.
