Wes Pardue joined Knox & Givens as a Principal in April of 2001. Wes has been licensed to practice law in Florida since 1982 after graduating from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1981. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in 1978. He was born on April 9, 1956, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. From January 1997 through March 2001, he served as a General Master in the Family Law Division of the Circuit Court in Tampa, hearing and ruling on post-divorce actions relating to modifications of child custody, child support and alimony as well as contempt of court and enforcement cases. From July 1989 through December 1996, Wes was the Chief Trial Attorney for the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, representing the State in child abuse and neglect (dependency) cases. From October 1982 until June 1989, Wes was an Assistant State Attorney in Tampa, prosecuting a wide variety of criminal cases. From 1997 through 2001, Wes served as an Adjunct Professor of Criminology at the University of South Florida, teaching in the area of juvenile rights and procedures. He lectures as a subject matter specialist for both the Florida Office of State Court Administration and the USF Mediation Institute on mediation, dependency law, and family law matters. Since 1998, Wes has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Family Law Mediator. Wes is active in the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Family Law Section, having served on its Executive Council since 1997. He is a member of the Family Law Inn of Tampa, American Inn of Court, as well as a member of the Florida Bar and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Wes also serves on the Board of directors of the Hillsborough County Maternal Child Health Coalition. Wes’ practice areas are in Divorce, Child Custody, Mediation and Dependency (child abuse and neglect). |
