Keeping a diary is very important if custody is an issue in your family law case. If parties in a divorce case are contesting who will spend more time with the children, a diary is a useful tool to show the judge at trial. Proving that one parent has historically spent more time with the children is one factor that the judge will consider when deciding how to resolve the parties' timesharing issues.
