European Union Moves to Clarify Divorce Laws

What has not been major news about the EU is how they deal with family law issues. Specifically, what happens when a husband and wife from different European countries within the EU get a divorce? Some countries' divorce laws may be better for husbands, others for wives.
The EU is grappling with a problem that has been partially solved in the United States. Here, we have the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act that proscribes where a divorce case with child custody issues can occur. It will be very interesting to see what the EU adopts to help with their burgeoning "divorce shopping" problem.
